Thanks to TRICK output or to tire bench data, RIDElab identifies the Pacejka MF coefficients taking into account the effects induced by temperature and grip variations on tyre behaviour by means of physical models. Specifically developed procedures allow the discrimination between thermal and wear effects, the elimination of the outliers and a reliable reproduction of camber and load effects.
The data necessary to analyze the tires’ physical behavior can be partially provided by bench characterizations. For this reason, a tire characterization methodology, based on real outdoor data acquired adopting the vehicle as a sort of “moving lab”, has been developed by MegaRide including both specific test routines and the software tool T.R.I.C.K.
